Hansi Flick new German head coach? Bayern manager won’t deny the roumors

There is a serious possibility that the German will leave Bayern even he doesn't succeed Loew
In Bayern Munich, there are no worries. They are the leaders of the Bundesliga with four points advantage over Leipzig, they have an easy rematch in the Champions League with Lazio (won the first game 4-1) and even the rumors that their head coach could leave in June is not something they are concerned about. They are Bayern, and if Hansi Flick leaves, there is always Julius Neglemann.
After it was officially announced that Joakim Loew will step down as the national team’s coach after the Euro 2020 (moved to 2021 due to Covid-19), four names quickly appeared in the press: Jurgen Klopp, Hansi Flick, Ralf Ragnick, and Lothar Matthaus. Liverpool manager was the first one to officially deny the rumors and Ralf Ragnick is on the verge of becoming the Schalke 04 sports director. It leaves Flick and Matthaus in contention for the job.
And why is Bayern Munich’s coach the favorite? Well, he just won six titles in 16 months with the Bavarians. He also knows the German football association better than anyone: he was the assistant of one former (Jurgen Klinsmann) and one current German coach (Joakim Loew), so he would be the natural successor. And also, nobody in Bayern would stand in his way: he is reportedly not on good terms with the sports director Hasan „Braco“ Salihamdidzic, and the man who brought Flick – Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is retiring this June, while Braco has the support of Uli Hoenes. That’s why is no surprise that Flick refused to rule himself out of the position, as Klopp did.
„I don't want to comment" was the only word he said when asked about the possibility. With a strange situation between „Braco“ and Hansi Flick, it will probably be either the national team or mutual parting in Bayern.

The „dark horse“ in the race is Lothar Matthaus. Famous footballer, former (un)successful manager of Hungary and Bulgaria hasn’t coached since 2011 and is a football expert at the moment. He didn’t refuse the possible job offer either, but also praised Flick.
"I'm someone who likes to help. If I had the feeling that those responsible were united behind it, then I would worry. Flick is the ideal candidate for the national team. It's not about money at all. He's a harmony man" explained Matthaus.
And what about Julius Neglemann? He is Braco’s first candidate for the Bayern bench, with or without Flick, and so is Laporta’s, according to the Spanish press.
„I have a contract until 2023. It would be a bit much to say that it annoys me — I know how professional football works. Apparently, I would’ve joined Tottenham, Real Madrid or Barcelona by now. There are great coaches at all of these clubs and they have a contract, just as I do. It is not annoying me, nor is it flattering me. It doesn’t have any relevance for me“ said Neglemann, according to AS.
The story won’t die away anytime soon. Stay tuned.
