BVB defeat Augsburg away 3-0 and would become new champions if they win in the last round

Life's not a fairytale. In Sebastian Haller's case, it's much more and than that.

The Ivorian striker missed most of the season due to severe illness, testicular cancer. Still, he managed to return miraculously to football and become one of the critical factors in Borussia Dortmund's title quest, the first one for BVB after more than a decade (the last time they won the Bundesliga was back in 2011/12 under Jurgen Klopp).

The 28-year-old went against all the odds and now confidently leads his side to glory. On Sunday afternoon, he netted two in a vital 3-0 away win at Augsburg, which puts BVB on the brink of the title.

Now, they 'only' need to win against Mainz at home in the ultimate game to clinch the trophy ahead of their archrival Bayern Munich, who have been at the top for the last ten years.

Despite the final result, Augsburg proved to be a formidable rival, not allowing Dortmund to storm to a win. Instead, they had to dig deep, but the revelation finally came in the 58th minute, as Haller placed it behind the keeper with a bit of help from the right post.

A sign of relief and a prelude for another one of his 25 minutes later, which killed the game, definitely.

Brandt added another one in the stoppage time, and the celebration began. Sure, there are still 90 minutes of football left, but in front of the unbreakable Yellow Wall at Signal Iduna Park, anything but a home win would be a shocking outcome.
