Former K'Ogalo skipper Harun Shakava put pen to paper on a two-year deal days after Zambian club released him.
Gor Mahia have offered a lifeline to Harun Shakava after being released by Zambian champions Nkana FC by offering him a two-year contract.
The centre-back left Gor Mahia back in 2019 after five stellar seasons with the Kenyan giants having joined from Kakamega Homeboyz.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Gor Mahia Secretary-General Sam Ocholla confirmed that the club has acquired the signing of their former skipper.
“Shakava is one of us and we need to strengthen our defence. We feel that he is going to give us protection to sort out of issues of conceding,” said Ocholla.

The SG, however, failed to confirm the signing of Burkinabé midfielder Adbul who has been reported to be on the radar of K’Ogalo to galvanise the middle of the pack.
Shakava becomes the second Gor Mahia signing in the January transfer window after they roped in Brazilian forward Wilson Silva Fonseca from Fortaleza Sporting Club.
The defender was released by Nkana with the club reported to be undergoing a financial crisis after failing to secure a CAF Champions League spot.
“The aforementioned player [Harun Shakava] has been released by Nkana Football Club unconditionally and declares Harun Shakava as a free agent.
“We wish to confirm Nkana Football Club have no outstanding contract engagement with the player and he is free to look for a club of his choice,” read a statement from Nkana.
Gor Mahia have conceded 10 goals in eight matches this season with most of them being defensive blunders as was the case in the 3-1 win over Bandari.
Defensive frailties also cost them a maiden slot in the CAF Champions League after losing 6-0 to Algerian giants Belouizdad in the away clash before a 2-1 defeat at home.
