In an update published on the club’s official website, the veteran football administrator and senior counsel confirmed that the players, together with members of the technical bench, will pocket a staggering Ksh5 million should the team successfully clinch the league crown.
The announcement comes at a critical juncture of the campaign, with the title race entering its defining phase and every point carrying enormous significance.
The financial incentive is expected to further galvanise the squad as they seek to finish the season strongly and reclaim domestic supremacy that had eluded them last campaign.
Rachier, who has remained one of the club’s most influential figures over the years, also revealed that winning bonuses for the remaining two league matches have been doubled.
Players will now earn Ksh10,000 per win as part of the club leadership’s efforts to inspire maximum commitment during the run-in.

The hefty promise comes in the wake of Gor Mahia’s emphatic 3-1 victory over Murang'a Seal on Sunday, 17 May at Nyayo National Stadium, a result that saw K’Ogalo restore a four-point cushion at the summit over their fierce rivals AFC Leopards in what has developed into a tense and fiercely contested title race.
“During a productive meeting with the squad, Rachier pledged a Ksh5 million bonus should K’Ogalo seal this year’s championship. The sum, chairman confirmed, will be split between the playing unit and the technical bench,” read part of the club statement.
“In an additional move to lift spirits, Rachier also announced the doubling of the winning allowance to Ksh10,000 for each player per victory.
The payments have already been honoured in the club’s last six fixtures, with players receiving the cash after each win. The promises were warmly received by the squad,” the communication further read.
Under the guidance of head coach Charles Akonnor, Gor Mahia currently sit top of the standings on 68 points and could potentially wrap up the league title on Sunday, 24 May, should they overcome Mara Sugar in their penultimate fixture of the season at Raila Odinga Stadium, Homa Bay.
K’Ogalo will then conclude their campaign against Nairobi United, with the club determined to bag maximum points and avoid any late twists in a title race that has kept fans on edge throughout the season.
