The team will depart for Tanzania on Monday evening ahead of the clash set for Wednesday, 10 September.
This year’s event carries extra weight, with K'Ogalo invited as the chief guest team.
Notably absent from the squad is goalkeeper Bryne Omondi, who is understood to have already signed with the club from Bandari.
Players currently on national team duty, Michael Kibwage, Sylvester Owino, Lewis Bandi, Alphonse Omija, Alpha Onyango, and Ben Stanley, will join the squad in Tanzania after completing their Harambee Stars assignments.
The squad also features new signings George Amonoo, Ebenezer Adu, and Siraj Mohammed, adding fresh blood to K’Ogalo’s ranks as they prepare for the showcase.
Initially, FKF Premier League champions Kenya Police FC had been invited for the annual Simba Day festivities, but their participation in the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup ruled them out.
The Simba versus Gor Mahia fixture promises fireworks, bringing together two sides with deep histories and massive followings in Tanzania and Kenya.
It is expected to dominate conversations both on mainstream and social media.
Traditionally held on August 8, Simba Day was postponed this year due to the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which Tanzania co-hosted with Kenya and Uganda.
The last meeting between the two sides was on June 10, 2018, when Gor Mahia defeated Wekundu wa Msimbazi 2-0 in a tournament final, with goals from Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge.
Since then, Simba have grown from strength to strength, consistently featuring in the knockout phases of CAF inter-club competitions, including a memorable run to the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup final.
Gor, meanwhile, have struggled to replicate their continental success, failing to reach the group stages since their back-to-back appearances in the 2018/2019 season.
