Oluoch has committed for the next two years
Gor Mahia has been handed a major boost after defender Joachim Oluoch signed a new two-year contract extension with the reigning league champions.
Olucoh’s contract with K’Ogalo expired yesterday and it was rumored that the lanky central defender is on his way out of the club after declining a fresh deal with the Vaz Pinto coached outfit.
Club CEO Lordvick Aduda has however downplayed any exit reports by disclosing that they have in fact reached an agreement with the player who has since committed for the next two years.
“Joachim is our player for the next two years, it’s a done deal. We negotiated and we agreed on everything, he is happy to continue with us,” Aduda told Mozzart Sport.
The coach has appointed Joachim Oluoch as interim captain ahead of Sunday’s league clash against Kariobangi Sharks. Kenneth Muguna and Joash Onyango, who are the captain and deputy respectively, have gone AWOL for a week now #Sirkal pic.twitter.com/CUzN0GN0i2

Aduda further disclosed that they are negotiating with more players over contract extensions and that they will be able to tie them down in the next few days.
“We are in talks with several other players because we want to tie them down. The talks are positive so far and we should be able to conclude the deals in the next few days,”.
“These are tough economic times, most teams are struggling and we are equally affected, this makes the negotiating slower but we are positive that we will finalize everything soon, “he added.
Oluoch has seen limited playtime this season as coach Pinto prefers a Harun Shakava - Andrew Juma partnership. The emergence of youngster Frank Odhiambo has seen Oluoch drop further down in the pecking order.
The player joined Gor Mahia in June 2017 from Bungoma-based FKF Premier League side, Nzoia Sugar. His role in the team has been a bit-part one over the years but has remained reliable when summoned for duty.
