Jagason, 28, currently plays for Libyan Premier League side Al Anwar, whom he joined in February.
FKF Premier League giants Gor Mahia are closing in on Uganda Cranes striker Mohamed Shaban Jagason as their search for strikers continues.
K’Ogalo are bolstering their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season as they aim to reclaim their glory after an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign.
In a rare occurrence, the Kenyan giants ended the season trophyless, finishing second to Kenya Police FC in the league and as runners-up in the Mozzart Bet Cup, which was won by newly promoted FKF Premier League side Nairobi United.
One of the key areas identified as a weak link, and a major reason for their struggles last season is the forward line, which lacked a prolific striker.
According to Ugandan sports presenter Santos Mwine, Gor Mahia are on the verge of signing Jagason but face competition for his signature.
“Kenyan giants Gor Mahia FC are in advanced stages of signing Uganda Cranes striker Mohamed Shaban Jagason. Jagason is also a target for Al Hilal Sudan, whom he met in Kampala yesterday (Saturday, August 30),” Mwine posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, August 31.
Jagason, 28, currently plays for Libyan Premier League side Al Anwar, whom he joined in February.
The Ugandan international has previously turned out for KCCA and Onduparaka in his homeland and also featured for African giants Raja Casablanca between August 2018 and August 2019.
Besides Jagason, K’Ogalo have also been linked with former New York Red Bulls forward Frank Ssebuufu, who is currently a free agent after parting ways with the American club in January.
The 21-time league champions have already secured the services of Harambee Stars forward Felix Oluoch from Posta Rangers and reigning National Super League (NSL) top scorer Veron Ombima.
However, the club remains keen on adding more firepower upfront and continues to scout both locally and internationally.
Other new signings already confirmed by K’Ogalo include Mike Kibwage from Tusker, former AFC Leopards vice-captain Lewis Bandi, and Bandari FC duo Byrne Omondi and Mohammed Siraj.
