Both clubs are interested in signing the left winger who recently parted ways with Kariobangi Sharks.

Record league champions Gor Mahia and last season’s league runners-up, KCB are both interested in signing immediate former Kariobangi Sharks winger, James Mazembe who is now unattached, Mozzart Sport can confirm.

Mazembe left Sharks a few days ago after mutually agreeing to end his three-year stay at the William Muluya led club after what was arguably his best season in the league where he racked in 11 assists and a couple of goals.

Immediately after it was confirmed that he is a free agent, KCB reached out to the winger before Gor Mahia followed suit with an offer in a bid to out-muscle the Bankers for the signature of the 21-year old Kenyan international known for his trickery and good crosses down the left flank.

A source close to the player has told Mozzart Sport that the forward is keen on joining either of the sides and is taking his time before making a final decision. He also disclosed that three more teams are interested in the player.

"Around five teams are after his signature but it’s KCB and Gor Mahia who have shown serious interest in him and have reached out with an offer on the table. He's still weighing his options before making a final decision but he is likely to end up at one of the two clubs because both have shown solid interest, “the source revealed.

The player who is currently at his rural home in Kericho has also been linked with a move outside the country. In an interview after the final match against Sofapaka on Sunday, Sharks coach Muluya hinted that the player could be England bound.
