Rachier distances himself from allegations stating that he was owed Shs 100 million by the club
Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has come out to refute allegations indicating that the club owes him in excess of Ksh.100 million.
On Monday, the club’s treasurer Dolfina Odhiambo was quoted by sections of the media saying that the financially limping champions had accumulated over Ksh.200 million in recent years with half of the debt owed to the long-serving administrator.
Odhiambo, who replaced Sally Bolo in the polls conducted in August 2020 also alleged that she had advanced the club a soft loan but remained tight-lipped on the amount.
However, Rachier in an interview with Tikitaka strongly disowned the said debt which he revealed was brought to his attention by a concerned fan who called him after reading the article which was widely shared on social media.
“I regret to tell you that the allegations going round suggesting that the clubs owe me are not true. A concerned fan alerted me on the debt after reading the article but honestly, I have no idea of where the information the club official who gave the interview got from,” he rebutted.
This is not the first time this season Gor officials have released conflicting information.

In November last year, the club controversially suspended its secretary-general Samuel Ocholla after he endorsed the broadcast deal between Football Kenya Federation and StarTimes only for Rachier to counter him by insisting that the latter did not have the backing and blessings from the club before putting pen to paper on the document and hence his action was null and void.
Gor have endured tough financial times recently with reports from the club stating that the players deserted online training in protest for their delayed salaries.
