The veteran striker undergoes medicals ahead of signing a two-year deal

The time has come to say goodbye.

Olivier Giroud becomes a new AC Milan player after undergoing medicals. The 34-year-old French striker signs a two-year contract with the Italian powerhouse, where he'll pair up with another veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Thus joining Bianconeri, Giroud sent a farewell letter to Chelsea players, fans, and the boardroom, thanking them for the outstanding support he received during his two years at Stamford Bridge.

"To all the Blues, to my teammates, to all my coaches, to the whole club, a huge thank you for these special moments.

I'm starting a new journey with a light and happy heart. Our victories in Fa Cup, Europa League and Champions League have been magnificent.

Love Oli G."

He has scored 39 goals in 119 appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge, winning three major trophies, including the Champions League title in May.

Giroud was involved in France's disappointing Euro 2020 campaign as they were knocked out by Switzerland on penalties at the round-of-16 stage following a 3-3 draw after extra-time.
