The former student, then the first team member of Birmingham, who became the champion of England with Leicester in 2016, and before coming to Everton in 2021, played briefly for Bayer Leverkusen, already at the beginning of the transfer window expressed his desire to leave the club a year before the contract expires. Given that he stood by his position, Everton did not want to have a disgruntled player in their ranks, and agreed to the transfer.
According to the well-known Athletic, Steven Gerrard played a big role in Gray's decision to move to Saudi Arabia.
The team lead by the former Liverpool captain has 10 points from the first five rounds of this season and is in fifth place, with three points less than the leading duo Al Hilal - Al Taawoun.
