The Real Madrid defender picked up a thigh injury during the draw against Switzerland and is in doubt for the next game
Antonio Rudiger's participation in Die Mannschaft's EURO 2024 1/8 finals game is in serious doubt due to a thigh injury.
The 31-year-old Real Madrid defender played all 270 minutes for Germany in the tournament's group stage and was one of the key players in Julian Nagelsmann's side.
The coach admitted Rudiger's issue could be "problematic" because of his availability the next time he goes out with fellow central defender Jonathan Tah, who is suspended after picking up two yellow cards.
"He has a bit of a problem with his thigh," Nagelsmann said after the Switzerland tie. "We'll have to see. I hope it's nothing serious. We'll see. That could be quite problematic."
Germany will next face the Group C runners-up (England, Denmark, Slovenia or Serbia) on June 29.
Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart's Waldemar Anton would be likeliest to come in if Rudiger is ruled out.
