Nakuru West Queens managed to beat Ulinzi Starlets 5-4 on post match penalties after a two-all in regulation time to book a date with former champions and Zone A leaders Thika Queens.
"Ulinzi came for the quarters match baying for our blood. It was a tough match but in the end things worked for us. My players remained focused despite the tough situation we were in. The prize money has been the biggest push for the players and they have vowed to go for the top prize,"
"We resume training on Monday, 21 June and top of my priority is getting the player confidence up. Tactically, we are in a good place and the only thing missing is the confidence to face the big names," said Nakuru coach Benard Esitoko.
Nakuru face a star-studded Thika that has Kenya International Esse Akida and the league's joint top scorer Mwanahalima Adam among others.
"We have only played against Thika in a friendly match setting in 2020 after gaining promotion to the Premier League. Back then we lost 3-0 to the first team and 1-0 to the second team but my players have improved tremendously since them and this will be a different ball game all together. It will not be an easy match but we are ready to fight," Esitoko added.
We shall be facing Gaspo Women Football Club on FRIDAY, 25/06/2021 as from 1:00 PM at the ASK Grounds Nakuru in the PENULTIMATE ROUND.#VihigaQueens#LegacyMakers https://t.co/98z6YSVTFB

Meanwhile, Gaspo Women who made easy work of their quarters rivals Wadadia FC in a 5-0 outcome have exuded confidence in getting the better of holders Vihiga Queens in the other semi final.
"We used the opportunities we created in the quarters well and the players stuck to the game plan. Going into the semi, the players are highly motivated and are going for the ultimate prize, the title," said Gaspo coach Ayub Inziani.
