The forward who played his last game for the Chinese side Zhejiang four days ago reportedly fell from the 11th-floor apartment

Sad news came from China today. Gabon international and the Chinese Zhejiang forward Aaron Boupendza tragically died at the age of 28, falling from the 11th-floor apartment. According to sources from China, the authorities consider it either an accident or a suicide, though the circumstances surrounding his death are still being investigated.

Boupendza, who joined the Chinese side last January, played his last game four days ago and scored his last goal on April 1. The beginning of his spell in the Far East was quite promising, as he scored four goals in six appearances with Zhejiang.

He started his career in his homeland's club, CF Mounana, before joining the French giants Bordeaux. Although he spent three years in the southwest of France, he did not get a chance to debut for the senior squad, as he spent most of his time on loans or with Bordeaux B.

Later on, Boupendza represented the Turkish Hatayspor, Qatari Al-Arabi, Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia, Cincinnati in the USA, and the Romanian Rapid Bucuresti from which he moved to China two and a half months ago.

Boupendza made 38 appearances for Gabon and scored eight goals. He debuted for the national team on January 16, 2016, in a friendly match against Uganda and scored his maiden goal for the Panthers four days later at an African Nations Championship clash against Rwanda.
