Oliver Glasner's side looked very sharp against the Ligue 1 rivals in the UEFA Conference League, but it ended in a painful defeat (2-1)
Crystal Palace might be enjoying quite a successful Premier League season, but in the UEFA Conference League, things are not looking that bright for Oliver Glasner's team.
Instead of dominating Europe's third-best competition, the Eagles are having a rollercoaster ride with two victories and two defeats in the opening four games.
On Thursday night, they lost to Strasbourg 2-1, despite breaking the deadlock and putting in a splendid first-half performance.

Jean-Philippe Mateta took down a high ball with ease, slipped in Tyrick Mitchell with a smooth poke and the defender produced a brilliant left-footed finish past Mike Penders into the bottom far corner.
It should have been 2-0 before the break, but Ismaila Sarr failed to score following Mike Penders' howler. He hit the inside of the post as the ball went along the goal line and out.
We expected the Eagles to wrap up the tie after the interval, and thus become the first team since 1995 to beat Strasbourg at their ground in major European competition (this is 11th in a row without a loss; won six and drew five). Alas, we witnessed the resurrection of Liam Rosenior's stubborn side and a complete comeback.
The hosts levelled almost instantly through Chelsea-bound Emmanuel Emegha, who will join the Blues in July 2026.
Palace were given a chance to restore the lead, with Penders making another mistake, but Adam Wharton slammed the crossbar this time.
And then came punishment, served cold...
Julio Enciso's free-kick hit the woodwork, but Samir El Mourabet was marvellous on the rebound for his first senior goal, who are at the top of the table with Samsunspor.
