Frank addresses Eze topic with some strong words

Spurs just missed out on Palace players when Arsenal moved in

Whether it was planned or not (it seems not), but Arsenal made the end of this transfer window spicier with an Eberechi Eze steal. When Kai Haverzt got injured again and when it became obvious that he will be out for months (the exact number is not yet known), the Gunners had to go back to the transfer market and find a player. While many expected that they will get a low key singing (after all Havertz is not out for a year), Arsenal came in and not only took a great player but also took his under the nose of their bitter rival! Tottenham agreed everything with Eze but Arsenal took advantage of the fact that Palace didn’t want to release Eze before the Conference League playoff clash against Fredrikstad, and offered package worth up to 79 million euros with bonuses – the same figure as the release clause that had only recently expired in Eze’s contract. Palace gave the green light, and Arsenal are about to sign a player today or tomorrow.

So, just before the game with Manchester City, Spurs boss Thomas Frank was asked about Eze’s situation and the fact that Crystal Palace forward, a boyhood Arsenal fan is going to the Emirates instead.

I don't want any players that don't want to come to the club. Who don't want to come to the club and wear this fantastic badge -- we don't want them here. I think that's very clear, and also pretty sure that the fans will feel the same if they don't want to put the fantastic shirt over their head. Play for the badge, play for the club. Really enjoy it. No problem, then we don't want them there. I think that's a key message. I don't know about whoever the players, whoever they support, I do not actually care too much about it. We all have a past. The main thing is if the player wants to come or doesn't want to come. So if they are from Spain, Denmark, Brazil, it doesn't matter if they want to come. Perfect” said the Dane quite clear.

And while Tottenham are preparing for the game against the Citizens, they are also working on a deal to get one Manchester player instead of Eze. That player is Savinho, and the Spurs are expecting to push for him after this match. So far, they have submitted an offer around 70 million euros but the Citizens have blocked the deal. It is expected that Daniel Levy will give another try before the end of the transfer window.
