Four slots up for grabs in FKF Cup quarters

Four matches will be played on Sunday, 28 February as teams chase quarter-final slots in the inaugural edition of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women's Cup.

In zone A, it will be a clash of Women Premier League (WPL) sides as all the division one teams that had qualified for the round of 16 were in action on Saturday and were eliminated. 

Third-placed, in WPL, Gaspo Youth take on Makolanders who have had a rough first leg in the premier league managing just one win and one draw for four points. Makolanders lost 4-0 to Gaspo in the premier league and their opponent look better placed, on paper, to clinch that quarter's slot. 

In the second match of a doubleheader scheduled for at Ruiru grounds, Zetech Sparks host Kibera Soccer Ladies in a fixture that has all the indicators of a thriller. When the two sides met in the first leg of the premier league, it was an end to end action-packed encounter that ended in a two-all draw. 

Meanwhile, SEP Ladies host on-form Wadadia at K’Otieno Grounds in Oyugis at noon as the hosts hope to withstand Wadadia's onslaught for a win. Their last meeting was in a premier league clash where Wadadia prevailed in a 3-1 outcome. 

The fourth match of the day will see WPL defending champions and Zone B leaders in the 2021 premier league season Vihiga Queens host division one side Nyuki Starlets at Mumias Complex.

While the Alex Alumira-coached side are the favourites in the clash, Nyuki are looking to be the second division one side to reach the quarters after Bunyore booked a slot into the quarterfinals after seeing off Oserian Ladies 5-4 in post-match penalties.
