Former Liverpool, Newcastle, and West Ham ace could face up to five years in prison

Andy Carroll, 36, is facing charges for breaching an injunction and could potentially be sentenced to prison. The striker, who spent his career at clubs such as Liverpool, Newcastle, and West Ham, was arrested on April 27. The incident occurred at London Stansted Airport, reportedly in front of other travelers, according to The Sun.

A source told The Sun shortly after the arrest: "It seemed that border officials at passport control in Stansted noticed a problem, which led to the police being called. He was questioned and then taken away. This caused quite a stir, as there were many other passengers near where he was arrested."

The police have confirmed: “A man has been charged with breaching a restraining order. Andrew Carroll, 36, from Epping, was arrested on April 27. The alleged offenses are related to an incident in March. He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on December 30.”

Currently, Carroll is playing for English sixth-tier side Dagenham & Redbridge, having scored six goals in twelve appearances this season. Once considered one of England’s brightest young talents, he commanded a 41 million euros move from Newcastle to Liverpool in January 2011.

Despite the hefty transfer fee, Carroll never reached the heights expected of him. He scored just eleven goals in 58 appearances for Liverpool before moving to West Ham United. Following several short spells across clubs in England and France, Carroll now finds himself competing in the sixth tier.
