Chipo, who was appointed in April 2025, guided Seal to safety in the top-flight and led them to a third-place finish in the Mozzart Bet Cup. However, despite the club’s desire to retain him, negotiations over a new deal collapsed after both parties failed to agree on terms.

"Talks had been ongoing for weeks because the club really wanted to keep him. After what he achieved last season under very difficult circumstances, it was clear management valued him highly.

But his demands did not align with what the club was ready to offer, and eventually, he felt it was best to leave. Now the team has to go back to the drawing board in search of a new coach,” a source close to the matter revealed.

The Murang’a-based club, currently holding camp in Nyeri, has since issued an official statement confirming Chipo’s exit, describing it as a mutual decision not to extend his contract.

“Coach Yusuf Chipo was engaged by the club in April 2025 with the specific assignment of steadying the ship and ensuring the team remained in the Premier League,” read part of the statement.

“In a spirit of mutual respect, both parties agreed not to pursue an extension of the contract. The club sincerely thanks Coach Chipo for his service and dedication during his time with us and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.”

Otieno, a former Royal Fresh FC coach who joined Seal alongside Chipo earlier this year, now steps into the hot seat. The club has expressed confidence in his ability to lead the team forward.

“Moving forward, the team remains in safe hands under Coach Don Otieno as we focus firmly on building strength, unity, and success in the coming season,” the club added.

In a further boost to the technical bench, Seal has appointed former Harambee Stars midfielder Dennis 'Dess' Odhiambo, who featured for the side last season, to add experience and leadership to the dugout.

“At the same time, we are delighted to welcome former Kenyan international Dennis ‘Dess’ Odhiambo to the technical bench, bringing invaluable experience and leadership to our technical team,” the statement concluded.
