Tobias Otieno made his second successive appearance from the bench for Union Omaha.
Former Gor Mahia midfield dynamo Tobias Otieno was handed the final 27 minutes as his Union Omaha side edged Forward Madison 1-2 in the United Soccer League (USL) League One.
This was the second successive off the bench appearance for Tobias after sitting out of a chunk of the opening games of the season due to injury.
Since making the switch from Gor Mahia back in January 2020, it has not been smooth sailing for the midfielder as he had to wait for over seven months to travel to the US owing to the Covid-19 travel restrictions.
His time at the club has been plagued by injuries thus far but after shaking off his niggly injury, the 22-year-old will be looking to command a starting berth at Omaha.

Forward Madison suffered the worst possible start to the game as Tyler Allen turned the ball into his own net after a cross from Brazilian midfielder Nicolas.
Jake Keegan capitalized on an Omaha defensive mix up to slot the ball at the back of the net following a neat through pass from Justin Sukow in the 35th minute to restore parity for Madison.
Omaha regained their lead six minutes after the resumption of the second half through Emir Alihodzic who nodded home a cross from the right flank.
Otieno was called from the bench in the 63rd minute replacing Nicolas who notched an assist in the game to continue his fine season.
The win maintained Omaha’s slot at the summit of the league with 14 points from seven games and returned them back to winning ways after suffering a blip in three games.
