Tobias Otieno provided assist in the team's win that took them back to the summit of the log.

Former Gor Mahia midfielder Tobias Otieno put in a man of the match performance as his Union Omaha side reclaimed top spot in the United Soccer League (USL) League One following a 1-2 win over Tuscon in a league match played on Sunday morning.

Named in the starting eleven in the matchday squad, the midfielder provided the assist that set up the opening goal for Omaha as he featured for the full ninety minutes of the game. Here is a wrap of how the action unfolded.

Tuscon 1 - 2 Union Omaha

Coming into the match, a run of two consecutive draws had seen Omaha relinquish their position at the top of the table to Chattanooga Red Wolves although on goal difference.

Against Tuscon, Omaha needed nothing short of a win to heap pressure on Wolves. After a quiet fourty minutes in their game against Tuscon, the match burst into life with just one minute left before the half time interval. Tobias picked the ball in midfield and squared a pass to Damia Viader who unleashed an absolute thunderbolt into the back of the net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance as he gave his side the advantage going into the break.

Six minutes into the second half, Greg Hurst addded a second for Omaha to give his side some needed cushion as an own goal from Conor Doyle in the 74th minute would threaten Omaha's lead. Fortunately, Tuscon could not build on the luck that fell their way and Omaha edged the contest to get back to winning ways.

Otieno's Omaha then managed to go back at the top of the table after Wolves drew 1-1 in their match against Greenville, leaving Omaha with a two point advantage at the top of the table.

Ismail Dunga

Elsewhere in Japan, Kenyan international Ismael Dunga featured for the last five minutes as his Sagan Tosu side played to a 3-3 draw against Cerezo Osaka.
