Carlos Queiroz worked at United in two stints as well as at Real Madrid.
Egypt Football Association has confirmed that former Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant at Manchester United Carlos Queiroz will be the new national team coach following the sacking of Hossam El-Badry.
El-Badry was sacked on Monday following the 1-all draw against Gabon in the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifying match over the weekend, a result that those involved might have felt was uninspiring in Egypt's campaign for qualification to the global showpiece.

Currently, Libya top the group with six points as they beat Angola narrowly yesterday to maintain a perfect start to their campaign, with Egypt sitting second in the group with four points.
Carlos boasts of a rich CV, having managed Portugal's U20 as well as the senior team between 1989 and 1993 and had a second stint at the senior team from 2008 to 2010.
