Owino barely surviving after failing to get a new home
Former national U20 Rising Stars attacking midfielder Chris Owino has retreated to doing menial jobs to make ends meet after failing to get a club in the February transfer window.
Owino, has been club-less from November last year after leaving National Super League FC Talanta six months before the expiry of his contract.
The rookie was among the handful of players who were phased out at Talanta last year under unclear circumstances.

He was on the verge of sealing a move to Ushuru but the latter went under few weeks to the start of the season in December.
Owino who was part of the Stars squad which claimed bronze during the 2019 Cecafa U20 championships in Uganda says the Kazi kwa Vijana initiative has come in handy after failing to secure a move in the February transfer window.
“Were it not for the Kazi kwa Vijana initiative probably I would have been a street beggar. I was hoping to get a club in February but my efforts were futile as all the clubs which I reached out to wanted a striker. I also do other menial jobs in Kariobangi to sustain my life,” he said.
The former Wazito midfielder who keeps fit at Clevers FC was set to launch his professional career last year after landing to try with an unspecified United States based club but watched his dream go down the drain due to a visa hitch.
“I had gotten a deal in the United States but I wasn’t successful in the visa application. The deal is still valid and I hope i will be lucky this time round,” he added.
