After a short, unsuccessful adventure at 2018 Dakar Rally, Andre Villas-Boas is ready to become a proper driver

Football coaches are genuinely fanatics for their job and don't have too many hobbies outside the pitch. But for a few, it's a somewhat different story. Just check out the former Chelsea, Tottenham and Marseille tactician Andre Villas-Boas, who is set to make his World Rally Championship debut in Portugal later this month.

Only two months after parting ways with the French side, the 43-year-old Portuguese manager will be driving a Citroen C3. Villas-Boas has previous experience in the sport, having taken part in the Dakar Rally in 2018. He hit a dune in the third stage with his Toyota Hilux and was forced to withdraw after damaging his back.

Villas-Boas was in charge at Stamford Bridge during the infamous 2011/12 season but was sacked in March 2012, so his assistant Roberto Di Matteo took the caretaker role and pushed the team to historic Champions League triumph.
