It's a testing time for the Spanish coach, but he still has high standards about where he'd like to work

Marcelino Garcia Toral told Spanish radio station Cadena SER that he's already had talks with Sevilla and an unnamed Saudi club about his next job - all in the wake of his sad departure from Olympique de Marseille.

Regarding the offers he has received since leaving Stade Velodrome because of immense fan pressure, Marcelino revealed he's had conversations with Sevilla after the Andalucian club had sacked Jose Luis Mendilibar. And there's also been a call from the Middle East.

"There was a dialogue with Sevilla, a great club, but the conditions for this new project were unmet. I had a serious project at Marseille, but I was unaware of the club's situation. Last week, I received an offer from Saudi Arabia, but it's not in my plans. The offer was substantial, but I didn't consider it."

The story with OM is finished, but the Spaniard bitterly stated that creating a project at the club was virtually impossible, given its size and the constraints in place. He mentioned that the ultras had asked the president and the board to leave the club and threatened consequences if they didn't comply.

According to Marcelino, the president, Pablo Longoria, explained that he believed it was a great responsibility to abandon a club of this magnitude at this time, given the respect the club had always shown him. Marcelino stated that he didn't feel betrayed by Pablo and considered him a friend, understanding that people have reasons for changing their decisions.
