Football is a fun game - except when Chelsea are trying to play it

Mauricio Pochettino's team disappointed its army of supporters with a goalless draw in Bournemouth

Speaking ahead of the Premier League trip to Bournemouth, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino asked for his club's supporters to show more patience for the team that's still in the process of adjusting. The Argentine even recalled how the great Zinedine Zidane needed time to show his class when he joined Real Madrid early in this century. But, Mauricio, Zizou wasn't nearly as poor as your team!

A group of people claiming to be the Chelsea Football Club's first team, drew 0-0 with Bournemouth at the south coast of England and extended the Blues' worrying start to the 2023/24 season. With a distinct lack of cutting edge, Chelsea's attempts to get any ball beyond goalkeeper Neto ended in miserable failure. What's more, it was the home team that looked more likely to snatch the points as the game progressed.

However, neither team could have scored and the game ended in a goalless draw. Chelsea should be an exciting team with the number of talented individuals they have signed, but currently we could thing of a million things more fun to watch than this meek excuse of a football team.

Chelsea began the game on the front foot, with Conor Gallagher setting up Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson hitting the post with a long-range shot. However, they had a scare from a set-piece when Dango Ouattara had a shot on goal, but Robert Sanchez made the save. The further the game went on, the less likely Chelsea looked like finding the net.

On the other end, star striker Dominic Solanke, fresh from signing a new contract with the Cherries, had a glorious chance to give his team a late victory. His movement made Gallagher look like a fool, but Sanchez went down to the floor and saved his goal-bound shot with his outstretched leg, saving Pochettino from even more embarrassment.
