Davinson Sanchez wins a boring game for Antonio Conte's Spurs at Vicarage Road
Watford though they'd gotten a respectable goalless draw against Spurs, only to concede a poor injury-time goal and succumb to yet another defeat. The Hornets' defence has been the poorest part of the team all season, but they looked on course to claiming the first clean sheet of the Premier League campaign. But a late lapse in concentration led to a poorly conceded goal from a set piece that cost them dear.
Captain Harry Kane tested Watford's goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann a couple of times in what was a rather uneventful match – especially if you compare it to the earlier match between Arsenal and Manchester City. But there were still talking points. Claudio Ranieri's side had a few promising counter-attacks, of which one had resulted in a penalty shout after Spurs' captain Hugo Lloris went for the ball destined for the lively substitute Joao Pedro. The ref remained tight-lipped.
Another win for Spurs. Eight straight games unbeaten in the Premier League.

On the other end, Son Heung-min tried to steer a stray low cross with a clever flick, but only to see it drift wide as the time ticked away.
Just as Antonio Conte looked like having to settle with a point, his players came up with a late winner. Son swung a free kick right in the goalmouth and defender Davinson Sanchez absolutely hammered it in with a close-range header with Bachmann helpless.
The final whistle saw many Watford players drop to the floor in agony. It was a bitter pill to swallow after they've don everything to upset the in-form Spurs. You could argue that they maybe deserved something, but the scoreline doesn't lie.
It's going to be a long season for Watford with such a porous defence. Unless they tighten up at the back, they will soon sink into the bottom three. Spurs, on the other hand continue their steady improvement, but still lay just below the European spots.
Football can be cruel sometimes. Just ask Mr Ranieri.
