Shabana FC showcased their prowess by thrashing Sofapaka 4-1, marking their most significant win of the season and breaking a three-match winless streak.

On Sunday, Gor Mahia secured a 2-0 victory over Talanta FC at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, propelling them to a four-point lead at the summit of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) standings.

The triumph came in the wake of a frustrating 2-2 draw against Nzoia Sugar FC the previous week, leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of many fans. Some expressed concerns that head coach Johnathan McKinstry was taking risks with the squad.

With the chasing pack, including Posta Rangers (suffering a 1-0 loss to Muhoroni Youth) and Kakamega Homeboyz FC (falling 2-0 to AFC Leopards), stumbling in their matches, Gor Mahia, the reigning champions, created a comfortable four-point gap at the top with this victory.

Meanwhile, the AFC Leopards, guided by Czech coach Tomas Trucha, secured only their second win in eight matches with a well-executed 2-0 triumph over their rivals, Kakamega Homeboyz FC in the 'Cataluhya Derby'.

This victory was particularly gratifying for Ingwe, considering their struggles earlier in the season, especially against a team that had taken joy in humiliating them in previous encounters.

Despite the success, the 12-time Kenyan champions find themselves still grappling in the lower half of the table, positioned 13th with 14 points, sharing the spot with the Kariobangi Sharks, Shabana, and Sofapaka.

Shabana FC showcased their prowess by thrashing Sofapaka 4-1, marking their most significant win of the season and breaking a three-match winless streak.

Muhoroni Youth surprised Posta Rangers with a 1-0 victory, but despite the success, the Got Alila side remains entrenched in the relegation zone. Having secured only two wins in 15 games, they currently occupy the 17th spot in the standings with 12 points.

Following the conclusion of the round of 16 games on Friday, the league will observe a two-week break, allowing players and fans to celebrate the Christmas and New Year festivities.
