Elsewhere Shabana suffered a solitary goal loss to Murang'a Seal while Nzoia lost at home to Bandari
An early Benson Omala strike was all Gor Mahia needed to edge Nairobi City Stars in a Football Kenya Premier League match played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Omala sneaked in the ball past Simba Wa Nairobi keeper Elvis Ochoro in the fourth minute and K'Ogalo would have doubled the lead at the quarter-hour mark but Rooney Onyango's free-kick went inches wide.
Gor made a change after the restart with Emery Bayisenge coming for Kenedy Onyango and the former almost doubled the lead but his header off a Rooney freekick went wide.
City Stars' real chance came in the closing stages of the match when they won a free-kick just outside the box but Samuel Kapen's effort went wide.
Muran'ga Seal 1-0 Bidco
Murang'a Seal finally managed to get a win after 11 outings, edging Bidco United by a similar scoreline, courtesy of a Naaman Balecho strike.
Nzoia United 1-2 Bandari
In Sudi, visitors Bandari compounded Nzoia United by grabbing all the three points in a highly-competitive match.
