The highly-rated striker rejoined KCB in the ongoing transfer window from Kenya Police FC

KCB striker Derrick Otanga has predicted a tough Kenya Football Federation Premier League (FKFPL) this season.

Otanga says the competition will be unpredictable making it difficult for every team to win the title.

“When you look at how the various teams have strengthened their squads, it is going to be a difficult season. There is no saying who will win it and even for the eventual champion, they are going to have to sweat for it,” he said.

Otanga believes no team can be underrated even the traditional ‘small’ teams.

“Across the board every side has made some adjustments to their squads for the better making it hard to underrate anyone.”

Otanga says he is looking forward to a great season and wants to play more matches for the bankers.

“We have had an amazing three weeks of training. The coach is very motivating and I look forward to playing many matches and score many goals for my new club. I feel welcome and motivated and the reception has been quite amazing so far.”

“Iam totally focused on giving my best and perhaps even do better than I did two years ago when I emerged the top scorer in the league."

The bankers will not be in action this weekend as the top league kicks-off as there would be opponents Kakamega Homeboyz are out of the country for a continental assignment.

Otanga rejoined the bankers this season after leaving money bags Kenya Police where he had stayed for four months.

He returned to the country in June after a failed move to Libya and Morocco failed to materialize despite finishing top scorer in the 2021-2022 season.
