FKFPL: City test for Ingwe as high riding Tusker face Vihiga Bullets

The Football Kenya Federation Premier League, FKFPL action resumes on Wednesday after the Christmas and New Year festivities with potentially enthralling fixtures on the cards.

Glory-sterved AFC Leopards will be at Nairobi City Stars as they chase an elusive second win of the season. Since beating Ulinzi Stars in Week 1, Ingwe has gone four fixtures without a win, and have endured two loses in the process.

Against City, Ingwe will be up against a team that is yet to taste victory in six games. The Simba Wa Nairobi have recorded two draws and four loses.

Interestingly, both Ingwe and City have only managed to score three goals a piece so far, a worrying indicator of how profligate their attacks are. Yet, City with a negative seven goal difference, has conceded the most goals (10) than any other club. Leopards have let in three.

Leopards are yet to win the league title since their 12th glory way back in 1998, while Nairobi City Stars have never won the most prized trophy.

Runaway leaders Tusker FC will host Vihiga Bullets FC at their Ruaraka Stadium backyard as they seek a sixth straight win.

"It will be another game to win and we're prepared for it. Nothing special from the other games we've played," Tusker FC coach Robert "The Lion" Matano, told Mozzart Sport.

The visitors will be playing their second game of the season, having started the league late. Their opener was a painful 1-2 loss to Posta Rangers.

Irish manager Johnathan McKinstry is back in the country and will be incharge of Gor Mahia when they face hard fighting KCB FC at Nyayo Stadium.

The Bankers have blown hot and cold in six matches, winning three and losing an equal number. Their last outing before the Christmas break was a 1-2 loss to Tusker.

Gor Mahia on the other hand edged Bandari 1-0 to return to winning ways after drawing 1-1 with Kariobangi Sharks.

For K'Ogalo, the aim is to catch up with Tusker and if possible go top of the table before mid year. The representative of the country in the African Champions League will be the team topping the table as of July this year.
