A source close to besieged Football Kenya Federation (FKF) CEO Harold Ndege has rubbished allegations of incompetence levelled against him after a show-cause letter was issued to him at the end of 2025.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source told Mozzart Sport that Ndege is not guilty and will not resign, even as he spoke of a scheme to edge out the CEO due to what he terms as the former Tusker defender's insistence on due diligence in running the federation.
The source also addressed some of the allegations levelled against Ndege. “In the first allegation, which accuses him of failure to notify the FKF President of a Parliamentary Committee invitation, the truth is that the meeting was postponed to February 2026.
Ndege informed the Parliamentary committee of the President’s absence, and they postponed the meeting to February, and everyone concerned is aware," said the source.
Regarding allegations of mismanagement of the Kenya U15 team, the source said Ndege had categorically insisted that the team should not travel to Uganda for the continental tournament since there were no finances to fund their participation.
“However, someone close to the top leadership of the federation decided to sponsor the team despite Ndege’s reservations and also the fact that the team was not ready to take part in the tournament.
After they insisted on travelling, Ndege told them he would not be responsible for what happened after that. To his credit, Ndege has an email communication exonerating himself from the problems of the team.”
He also dismissed accusations of chronic absenteeism and improper discharge of duties, insisting that, as CEO, his contract allowed him to sometimes work outside his station, something that the FKF top leadership is aware of.
Regarding unauthorised official travel, the source claimed the only time Ndege had travelled was to attend a CAF management course that brought together General Secretaries from 35 federations.
“This was an important meeting, especially for the federation, since whatever he was going to learn was of benefit to FKF.”
Ndege has since obtained a court order blocking his removal from office. The federation was earlier scheduled to discuss his removal this Thursday.
