The midfielder is now a free agent and is rumoured to be headed to Tusker FC

After close to two years with Wazito FC, Fidel Origa is set to end his association with the club after terminating his contract.

Origa’s deal at the Crypto-backed club was expected to elapse in December 2023 but according to sources close to the side, the player terminated his contract due to delayed salaries.

The tenacious midfielder joined Wazito back in August 2020 from Western Stima which has now rebranded to Gusii United and ply their trade in the National Super League (NSL).

“I have parted ways with Wazito, I’m still exploring my options with regards to my next move but I will announce my next club once everything has been finalised. I would like to thank Wazito for offering me the chance to develop my football, my game really grew while I was there and I played regularly, something that I’m always thankful for,” Fidel told Mozzart Sport.

The former Western Stima midfielder previously turned out for Kariobangi Sharks where he joined from non-league side African Heroes FC and later moved to the Kisumu-based club.

The diminutive 20-year-old midfielder has been capped 10 times for the under-17 and under-20 national team and was a vital cog in the Wazito wheel.

Origa also took to social media to post his farewell message as he thanked the whole of Wazito fraternity for the time he spend at the club.

“It’s been a privilege playing for this great club. I take this opportunity to say a special thank you to the management, the technical bench, my fellow players and the great fans of this club for the unconditional support, beautiful moments, memories and the success we had during my stay in this club.

Goodbyes are never that easy but it’s time, Wazito Football Club will forever hold a special place in my heart. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours,” read a post from Fidel.
