Superagent Jorge Mendes goes into overdrive - trying to find new clubs for his clients Joao Felix and Cristiano

The search is on. As soon as Portugal ended their World Cup campaign with the defeat to Morocco, two forwards have returned to figuring out their future in the club game. Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix are on the move.

The younger of the two attackers will likely leave Atletico Madrid in the upcoming transfer window after his agent Jorge Mendes had a constructive meeting with Diego Simeone and Los Colchoneros management.

There are several clubs interested in the former Benfica youngster. We already told you about Paris Saint-Germain's plans to capture the speedy winger, but most interested parties are from further north - England. It actually suits Felix, who would gladly move to the Premier League. According to reports in Marca, Arsenal leads the race - although that doesn't have to mean anything at this stage.

One club that's interested, but which Felix outright rejected is Aston Villa. The claret and blues, now managed by Unai Emery, tried to talk to the Atletico outcast, but the Portuguese doesn't fancy that move. Living in Birmingham and playing for a club that won't be challenging for titles anytime soon simply isn't an attractive prospect for the player who's gotten used to playing in the Champions League. Also, Aston Villa apparently "hasn't got enough history". Well, they did win the Champions League 40 years ago. If that's not history, then what is? Anyway, Joao is a young man - maybe that's why he isn't aware of Aston Villa's tradition.

Bayern Munich have had an offer of $100 million refused by the Wanda Metropolitano club during the last transfer window, but Simeone wouldn't let the Portugal international leave. But the economic situation has changed in the meantime. Should the German giants table another offer, the red and whites would probably say yes.

La Liga continues on 29 December, and Atletico's involvment in Copa del Rey starts a week earlier. It's not yet clear whether Cholo Simeone would use Felix in those games - or will he decide against risking an injury to the player who's supposed to bring around $100 million into the club's accounts.

And Mendes' other client? Well, he'll think of something.
