Kylian's family - led by his and Ethan's mother Fayza Lahiri - are on the verge of purchasing SM Caen, which plays in the Ligue 2
Kylian Mbappe's family is getting very close to buying Ligue 2 side Stade Malherbe Caen, RMC Sport reports on Friday.
SM Caen's current owner is American asset management firm Oaktree Capital Management, which also owns Serie A champions Inter. However, they have recently informed other shareholders that they would withdraw from the club's ownership.
In addition to managing Kylian and his younger brother, Ethan Mbappe's careers, the family controls IBKM (Inspired by Kylian Mbappe), a charity foundation and a players' agency.
The crucial person in the company is Mbappe's mother, Fayza Lamari. Without her approval, seeing them getting involved in a potential Caen takeover would have been impossible.
Interestingly enough, young Kylian went on a trial at Caen back in his tender age. They have finished the previous Ligue 2 season in sixth place.
