The Rising Stars coach does not have a passport and therefore could not make the trip

The national U20 team, commonly referred to as the Rising Stars, left for the Four Nations Tournament in Malawi earlier this morning without its head coach Salim Babu, Mozzart Sport can exclusively reveal.

According to a reliable source, Babu, who doubles up as the Kenya Police FC tactician, doesn’t have a passport and therefore could not travel.

“It was a very shocking development. This is something that would have been sorted early enough if he had been open about it from the onset.” The source told Mozzart Sport.

In his absence, his assistant coach Anthony Akhulia will oversee the young lads who open their campaign against Zimbabwe tomorrow afternoon and will face Malawi on Sunday in the final fixture.

The young Malawi Flames started their campaign with a hard fought 3-2 win over Zimbabwe on Wednesday at the Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
