Ex-United forward Welbeck scores extra-winner to kill Newcastle

The Seagulls pull off quite a surprise as they stun the Magpies at St. James' Park on Sunday night (1-2)
This was such an awful day for Newcastle United. Not only were the Magpies shown their way out of the FA Cup at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion, but they've lost Anthony Gordon for the upcoming League Cup final due to a red card.
Eddie Howe's lot lost to the Seagulls, who came from behind for a massive win thanks to Danny Welbeck's extra-time winner.

The Seagulls have booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals despite conceding an early one from Alexander Isak, who put the hosts in front from the spot. However, the underdogs struck back just on time, seconds before the half-time interval, through former Newcastle player Yankuba Minteh.
That was just the prelude to the crazy finish, which saw a red card for each team (Anthony Gordon and Tariq Lamptey) and a disallowed goal for Fabian Schar. Gordon was rightfully sent off for a needless push in the head of Jan Paul van Hecke after the Brighton defender got the better of him in the box.

Such an unnecessary move that will cost him and his side so much, as Gordon will miss out the EFL Cup showdown at Wembley against Liverpool on March 16.
This super-exciting match was decided with just six minutes of extra time left to play. Solly March played the ball through to Welbeck, who stayed onside, turned and dispatched it past Dubravka for a massive triumph.
