Wythenshawe, a team packed with former Premier League superstars, got another prominent reinforcement - Antonio Valencia
About half a year ago, you could read on this same website a story about an English Sunday League team like no other, Wythenshawe F.C. A squad packed with former Premier League stars with almost 2000 games in the top flight in their legs.
Now, it's time to remember them and mention them again, as the crew that includes prominent EPL names like Emile Heskey, Danny Drinkwater, Stephen Ireland, Joleon Lescott, Papiss Cisse, and many others, got another distinguished reinforcement - none other than the former Manchester United captain, Antonio Valencia!
The ex-Ecuador international and a two-time Champions League winner with the Red Devils, played his last professional season in 2021 with the Mexican Queretaro before announcing retirement on May 12.
Since then, he hasn't been involved in football in any way, but now he has apparently decided to have some fun with former rivals with whom he fought throughout Premier League stadiums and give it a go as a veteran.
Wythenshawe announced the 40-year-old's arrival on their social media, with an appropriate welcome caption.

"Welcome to the club, Antonio!"
After Valencia's arrival, it's safe to say that even some current EPL sides would have trouble with the old men of Wythenshawe. Of course, if the veterans weren't more keen on a relaxed game with friends and a beer after it.
