Once a great talent of French football and the Premier League, found himself in the spotlight after claiming that Fenerbahce forced him to take doping substances – and later threatened him

Football club Fenerbahce has issued an official statement in response to shocking allegations made by Allan Saint-Maximin, who, in an interview with French media, claimed that during his time in Istanbul, he was pressured into taking performance-enhancing drugs and threatened if he revealed it to anyone.

In the statement released by Fenerbahce, it says: “We were appalled by the statements made on social media by Allan Saint-Maximin, who wore our jersey in the 2024/25 season. The distortion of facts by the player regarding the medical treatment he received following a health issue is an attempt to damage the reputation of our club.”

Fenerbahce rejected Saint-Maximin’s claims as baseless and malicious, emphasizing that all medical procedures were carried out legally and ethically, and that the treatment in question was a health intervention, not doping.

The club added: “As a sports club, Fenerbahce would like to inform the public that we will exercise all our legal rights against the misinformation and distorted claims affecting the reputation of our institution.”

This conflict is now expected to escalate into a legal battle, as both sides are presenting accusations and counterclaims: Saint-Maximin alleges he was offered doping substances and faced threats to remain silent, while Fenerbahce calls these claims lies that harm the club’s image.

It remains unclear whether Saint-Maximin will provide concrete evidence to support his accusations, but Fenerbahce is almost certain to file a lawsuit for defamation and damage to reputation.
