The signs of a possible De Bruyne transfer are becoming increasingly visible

The time has come for Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester City to part ways after ten years of love and a trophy-filled decade. The Belgian has won everything he could with the Citizens, and with mutual burnout setting in, the masterful midfielder recently announced on social media that he is leaving the club. The main question arose immediately—where will the former Genk, Chelsea, Werder Bremen, and Wolfsburg player continue his career?

De Bruyne is 33 years old and will turn 34 in June, which is why most speculations revolve around a move to Saudi Arabia or the United States. However, he recently said that he would consider all offers, even if it means staying in the Premier League.

And now, information has surfaced that Aston Villa is interested in his services. According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa is keen on bringing the Belgian international into their squad. Their sources claim that a meeting was held at the club to discuss the potential transfer of De Bruyne to the Birmingham side. It’s clear that Aston Villa has reached a level where they are seeking big signings and star names, and now it remains to be seen how the experienced midfielder would respond to such an offer.

In addition to Aston Villa, Italian side Como is reportedly ready to inquire with De Bruyne’s representatives to see if he would be interested in relocating to the lakeside. Many English clubs are on standby, as De Bruyne would prefer to stay in England, where he has built a comfortable life for himself and his family over the past ten years—meaning he wouldn't have to change countries or even continents. For now, no one has contacted him yet, as they are waiting for the right moment.

Much will probably depend on where Unai Emery’s team finishes this season and which European competition they qualify for. They are two points away from a Champions League spot, with a game in hand compared to Newcastle, who currently hold that position, and are level on points with Chelsea, who are ahead of them with a game in hand as well. It’s hard to imagine that, even at this age, a player of De Bruyne’s caliber would settle for the Europa League, let alone the Conference League.

At the moment, it’s all speculation from a well-known English outlet, but it’s clear that something is “cooking,” and we’ll hear more concrete details once the season officially ends.
