When everyone expected another reinforcement to fill the gap left by Kroos' departure, the Madrid giants found his successor in their current squad, continuing a smart transfer and development policy
When Real Madrid won three consecutive Champions Leagues, Los Blancos had arguably the best midfield in the world, consisting of three irreplaceable players. Now, the two of them are gone, but in Madrid they don't panic since they have already prepared replacements ready to step up.
The midfielder trio are, of course, Luka Modric, Casemiro, and Toni Kroos, with the Croatian now being the "last man standing." The Brazilian was the first to depart two years ago, moving to Manchester United, while Kroos recently decided to blow the whistle signaling the end of his outstanding career.
Two talented Frenchmen - Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga - were seen as Casemiro's successors and were both brought in even before the Brazilian left Santiago Bernabeu. However, Kroos' decision to call it a day stunned the whole football world, and the question of his replacement was raised more and more frequently.
🚨 Carlo Ancelotti is very clear & wants Fede Valverde to fill the void left by Toni Kroos.

It will be a question for everyone, but the Italian coach believes & trusts blindly in what the Uruguayan can contribute. [@jfelixdiaz] 🇺🇾⚡🦅 pic.twitter.com/s6ijXtjbpU
And when everyone expected another reinforcement, Carlo Ancelotti thought otherwise, selecting the German's successor from the current squad - Federico Valverde. The Uruguayian has already shown his enormous potential, but according to the Italian gaffer, he has more to prove. His fighting spirit and love for the club are undeniable. Now, whether he'll be able to fill Kroos' shoes regarding creativity remains to be seen.
However, in the end, two things are certain. First, Ancelotti's judgement has to be trusted. If he believes Valverde has what it takes, who can say otherwise? And second, adding Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo to the mix makes Real a young and powerful team capable of conquering European football in the upcoming years.
