The Toffees' manager says news of the successful appeal means he and his players can now 'draw a line under it' for the time being

Everton boss Sean Dyche says he was 'pleased' with the outcome of the club's profitability and sustainability (PSR) appeal after their 10-point deduction was cut to six this week.

Thanks to that decision, the Toffees moved five clear of the relegation zone and up to 15th in the table.

Ahead of their Saturday's clash with West Ham, Dyche says news of the successful appeal means he and his players can now 'draw a line under it' for the time being.

"We're pleased we got something back," Dyche said on Thursday. "You're always greedy, aren't you, and want more? But the points made by the club have been listened to and we've got four points back, which we'll take.

"It brings clarity to the situation, which is good for us, the players and for everyone.

"Anything that helps give a lift is good news. Performance levels have been solid. We haven't had the wins we want but getting four points back… the adjustment to the table is apparent and was needed because everyone felt ten points was harsh.

"I'd say it's done now and the main thing is it brings clarity. We obviously found it an interesting period."

Everton faces the prospect of a second hearing next month relating to a breach in the 2022-23 season, potentially leading to a further points deduction.
