West Ham goes to fourth and only one point behind their today's opponent, Lingard vs Iheanacho 2-2

Leicester City did win that incredible 2015/16 campaign and it cannot be said that they are not one of the better sides of the Premier league in the last couple of years. But if anyone said the Foxes and the surprise of this season - West Ham - would be battling for the 3rd place in the top-tier of English football, it would raise eyebrows before the season started. In today's matchup at the Olympic Stadium in London - a victory of the hosts 3-2, thanks to the first half performance of lately incredible Jesse Lingard.

West Ham captain Mark Noble today made his 400th Premier League appearance for the Hammers, becoming only the eighth player in the competition's history to reach that total for a single club.

Antonio and Rice were out of the West Ham squad while Soyuncu, Justin, Barnes, Morgan, Under, Maddison and Perez weren't able to help Brendan Rogers' team.

In an interesting match West Ham were a better side even though Leicester had the ball in their feet a little bit more and had a few more attempts towards Fabianski.

Whenever the Hammers had the possession they simply looked more determined. Hosts took the lead in the 29th minute - Vladimir Coufal spotted his teammate in a good position on the edge of the box and provided him with a nice pass. Man Utd outcast Jesse Lingard didn't think twice and rifled a first-time shot into the bottom right corner. Schmeichel couldn't do anything about it.

Leicester tried leveling and looked for some openings however Moyes holds one tight ship. Hammers were lurking for available space for counter attacks and it paid off.

Lingard again. Reborn. In 44th minute, Jarrod Bowen showed great vision to find Lingard with a cheeky pass inside the box, and his finishing shot was precise to send it low into the middle of the goal.

It didn't take long after the second half started for the home team to heighten their lead. Iheanacho lost possession in a bad area, allowing Lingard to run at the Leicester defence and the forward then found Soucek in the box and the Czech's clever pass set up Bowen for an easy, close-range finish.

Leicester put it to gear in the last 20 minutes - attempts to score and get closer to the hosts on the scoreboard started to endanger West Ham defence and Fabianski.

One thing is for certain - what Lindgard is to West Ham lately, Kelechi Iheanacho is for the Foxes. In the 70th minute, Ricardo Pereira teed up Iheanacho on the edge of the box and he fired the ball into the right side of the goal to make it 3:1.

To close the match off, couple of decent Leicester moves brought them a second. Iheanacho pounced on a loose ball inside the box in the 91st minute and defeated the goalkeeper with a shot into the bottom left corner.

Closing minutes weren't lucky enough for the visitors - it remained 3-2. Leicester are third with 56 points and West Ham are surprisingly good under David Moyes and have now collected 55 points and are fourth, holding on to that that Champions League spot.
