EURO2024Q: It's a do-or-die for Koeman's spiritless army in a boiling Greek cauldron

It doesn't get much more demanding than this, does it...
Imagine seeking an obligatory win in Athens against super-inspired hosts - with all to play for - cheered by a packed arena of more than 30,000 passionate supporters... Not just another day in the office for Ronald Koeman, that's for sure. The Netherlands manager ought to do his job perfectly in this do-or-die epic battle in prospect, as the Dutch team is looking to avoid a dreadful Euro 2024 Qualifiers exit.
After that excruciating 2-1 home loss to France (or shall we better say to Mbappe), the Oranje travel to Greece on Monday night with lots at stake - they could lose out another major tournament.
They are three points adrift of Greece, though with a game in hand. This basically means they could still grab that second spot if they manage to win their last two games against Ireland and Gibraltar, knowing well that Greece must still face France on the last matchday.

However, a loss would put them in a complicated place, especially as they have an inferior goal difference with their opponents in Group B.
On the other hand, Greek boss and former Chelsea midfielder Gustavo Poyet finds himself in a terrific position ahead of this pivotal game. The Euro 2004 winners surprised everyone by beating Republic of Ireland 2-0 on their soil. A possible win at home against the Dutch will put them in a solid position to finish second, although the last matchday during the next break will have a significant importance.
Liverpool full-back Kostas Tsimikas will continue on the left-hand side for the home team, and his skirmish with Xavi Simons and Denzel Dumfries could prove critical for the outcome of this crucial match.
