Kante and Pogba are out, but Deschamps believes they'll return in future
Didier Deschamps announced a list of 23 players of the French national team for the Euro 2024 qualifiers tie against Ireland on September 7 at the Parc des Princes and the friendly against Germany on September 12 in Dortmund. As expected, Lucas Hernandez returns to the Les Bleus squad, while Paul Pogba and N'golo Kante are among the absentees.

Hernandez returned to the team after a severe injury (rupture of the cruciate ligaments of the right knee) on November 22, 2022, in the World Cup group-stage clash against Australia (4 -1).
Asked about Kante and Pogba, Deschamps wanted to be somewhat optimistic about the two players:
"N'Golo Kante has resumed competition in Saudi Arabia, but I think he needs to collect more matches. Pogba? I believe in his ability to find the best level of his game again."
