Franco Mastantuono will sign a long-term deal with Los Blancos after just a season of a senior career at River Plate
Barcelona had Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, and Real Madrid was about to snatch a 17-year-old boy from Argentina who is—just like Maradona or Messi back in the day—considered the greatest prospect not just in Argentina but in the entire South American at the moment.
Franco Mastantuono of River Plate is on the verge of becoming a Real Madrid player, although his transfer will be finalized after River Plate's participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.

According to Marca, Los Blancos have sealed the deal with the attacking midfielder who attracted the attention of almost entire Europe.
Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Manchester United and several other clubs were interested in the youngster, but the Spanish giants won this race.
However, Mastantuono requested that he remain with the Buenos Aires club through the end of the upcoming tournament.
Reports in Spain suggest that the framework of an agreement is now clear: Madrid will pay his €45 million release clause, in six structured instalments.
As per Cadena SER, Mastantuono has already spoken directly with Real Madrid representatives, including their new boss, Xabi Alonso, and is apparently enthusiastic about the role he'll be given in the team's long-term project.
