Eight Kenyan match officials set for CAF assignments this weekend

Four will be in action in the CAF Champions League match pitting KMKM of Zanzibar and Ethiopia's Saint George on Friday while the other four will take charge of the match pitting Mozambique's Ferroviário de Maputo and Comoros' Belle Lumière at the Maputo-Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto

Eight Kenyan match officials will be out on CAF assignments this weekend during the preliminary stage of both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

The quartet of Brooke Philip, Tony Kidiya, Oliver Omondi, and Israel Mpaima will be in action at the Azam Complex in a CAF Champions League match pitting KMKM of Zanzibar and Ethiopia's Saint George on Friday 18 August 2023 starting at 4 PM EAT.

Brooke has been selected as the referee for the match, with Kidiya and Omondi set to help him as the first and second assistant referees respectively.

Mpaima will serve as the fourth official in the match, with Eritrea's Angesom Ogbamariam being the match commissioner.

On Saturday 19 August 2023, four more Kenyan officials will be in action, this time at the Maputo-Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto where Mozambique's Ferroviário de Maputo will be hosting Belle Lumière of Comoros from 3 PM.

Newly-installed FIFA referee Meshack Omondi will be among the four Kenyans for the task, the others being Dickens Mimisa, Samuel Kuria, and Joshua Achila.

Mimisa is set to whistle through the match assisted by Kuria and Achila, with Omondi being the fourth official.

Angolan Inacio Manuel will complete the officiating lineup for the match at Maputo.
