The Dutchman scored two beauties and annulled Lautaro's numerous misses for the Nerazzurri's easy triumph over Atalanta - 2-0

Atalanta's keeper, Marco Carnesecchi, annoyed Lautaro Martinez tonight, preventing him from scoring on multiple occasions. However, neither the custodian nor the rest of Gian Piero Gasperini's crew had a solution for Denzel Dumfries, who was Inter Milan's match-winner, netting two goals in the span of 12 minutes (49th and 61st) after the break!

Both efforts were beauties, as the Dutchman netted the opener with a bicycle kick and the second with a long-range screamer, securing his team's place in the Supercoppa Italiana grand final - 2-0.

The first half of the game was marked by the duel between Inter's captain Lautaro Martinez and Atalanta's keeper Marco Carnesecchi. The Argentinian made as many as four attempts during the opening 45 minutes - twice he shot off target and twice La Dea's custodian superbly stopped him.

On the other hand, Atalanta were not dangerous at all, probably because Gian Piero Gasperini started the match without three key players, scorers of 36 goals this season, Mateo Retegui (14), Ademola Lookman (12), and Charles De Ketelaere (10), as the first was injured and the latter two were benched.

However, Denzel Dumfries was there to correct his captain's mistakes only four minutes after the break, bringing Nerazzurri the lead! Federico Dimarco took a corner kick, and the ball rebounded to the Dutchman, who controlled it skilfully and netted it with a beautiful bicycle kick, making it 1-0!

Gasperini subbed in the Belgian and the Nigerian in the 56th minute but was punished for leaving them out of the XI only five minutes later when Dumfries completed a brace, now with a long-distance bomb which crashed against the bar and ended up in the back of Carnesecchi's net for - 2-0!

Lautaro's missing spree continued in the 70th minute as Carnesecchi emerged victorious again from their duel. Nevertheless, this time, Simone Inzaghi's team could have been punished only three minutes later, but Ederson's goal was disallowed due to offside. Subsequently, Inter peacefully awaited the end of the game and the chance to defend the trophy they won in the last three seasons.
