During the month, Abuya featured in six matches, accumulating 426 minutes on the pitch for the Tanzanian giants.
Although he did not register a goal or assist, his overall impact in midfield proved vital as Yanga navigated a busy and competitive schedule.
The former Kariobangi Sharks and Kenya Police FC midfielder played a key role in helping the league leaders collect 10 points from a possible 18, courtesy of two wins and four draws.
Among the standout fixtures during that run was the highly charged Kariokor Derby against arch-rivals Simba SC, where Yanga managed to avoid defeat in a tense encounter that further reinforced their title credentials.
His consistency and tactical discipline in midfield helped Yanga maintain their position at the summit of the 16-team league table, a period that proved crucial in shaping their title charge.
The recognition marks Abuya’s fifth individual accolade since joining the Tanzanian giants, following his December Player of the Month award in the Tanzania Premier League, as well as multiple Man of the Match awards against Mashujaa FC, Fountain Gate FC, and Namungo FC.
With Yanga currently leading the standings on 44 points, eight clear of rivals Simba, Abuya will now turn his focus to maintaining his form as he eyes a second Tanzania Premier League title with the record 31-time champions.
