Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada has secured a fresh chapter in his career after sealing a move to Romanian top-flight side UTA Arad.

The transfer comes on the back of a quiet spell in Scotland, where Odada had been contracted to Dundee United but last featured in competitive action during his loan stint at OFK Beograd.
His final appearance for the Serbian side came on May 25, 2024, against Novi Pazar in the Serbian SuperLiga.
“UTA has confirmed the signing of defensive midfielder Richard Odada (24), a Kenyan international. The contract runs until the end of the season, with the club holding an option to extend it for another year.
Born in Nairobi, Odada stands at 1.90m and has played for notable clubs in Europe and America: Red Star Belgrade (Serbia), Philadelphia Union (USA), AaB Aalborg (Denmark), and Dundee United (Scotland). At national team level, he has earned 25 caps for Kenya in the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers,” the club said in a statement.
Odada’s football journey has been a story of persistence and constant movement.
After leaving AFC Leopards in 2019, he joined Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, later gaining experience at Grafičar Beograd and Metalac Gornji Milanovac.
A switch to Major League Soccer with Philadelphia Union followed in 2022, before loan stints in Denmark with AaB Aalborg and then a permanent transfer to Dundee United in 2024.
At international level, Odada remains a central figure for Harambee Stars, having earned 25 caps since his debut against Uganda in 2021.
His most recent appearance came during Kenya’s 3-1 defeat to Gambia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
